This painting came from the idea that as humans we often worry about choices, performance and expectations. But in reality we often still follow the instincts we share with monkeys. When I worry, I remind myself that we are still monkeys in some way, just without a tail, connected to nature. This realization brings peace, because it reminds me that we don’t always have to be in control – we are part of a bigger whole.
